The aluminum beverage container recycling rate is over 57%, but aluminum giant Novelis Inc. has good news for recyclers. It is looking to push that recovery higher.
Novelis, the world leader in aluminum rolling and beverage can recycling, wants to significantly reduce its carbon footprint as well as those of its customers. Novalis says that recycled metal currently accounts for 34 percent of all material is uses, and at the projected usage goal of 80 percent, the result will be the removal of ten million metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually from the aluminum product value chain.
