Intermediate bulk containers (IBCs) or bulk bins are a key component of a successful e-waste demanufacturing program. Bulk bins placed at work stations allow workers to separate materials as they are liberated from electronic items being dismantled.
IBCs can be constructed out of various materials, including steel, plastic, wood or corrugated fiberboard. Some containers are exceptionally durable and are designed to be utilized many times. Corrugated fiberboard containers are often utilized to be easily recycled where return to the original shipper is not intended. Corrugated fiberboard is easily recycled around the world. Even corrugated bins, however, are often reused numerous times.
IBCs are designed with features to improve performance, including such options as drop doors, collapsible design, or wheels.
